2024 was such a busy year for me, I am just now getting around to editing all the photos I took while spending a few weeks in Europe. I saw some of the most stunning locations across 5 countries, but here are some of my favourite photos and a little about the experiences we had in each country.
Austria

My favourite place in Austria by far was Hallstatt. It is as picturesque as it looks in every instagram photo. On the boardwalk there were these cream puff pastries that I will continue to dream about until I return. Salzburg had a lot of history, but the city shuts down early most nights and it wasn’t as impressive as I hoped it would be. The Mirabella Gardens and Mozart’s house were definitely highlights though.
Germany

We made a quick day trip in Germany to do some hiking at Lake Konigssee. The weather, the views, and the food were all delicious. I plan on making a trip back to Germany in the future and exploring all of the historic sites the country has.
The Netherlands

Unfortunately, our time in Amsterdam was cut short due to flight cancellations. Because of this, and the poor weather we had for most of our time here, I took minimal photos. In our limited experiences, I cannot recommend visiting the Anne Frank house enough. It was so surreal to walk through the spaces from a book I read when I was little, and to gain a little more insight into the terrible history that accompanied it.
Portugal

Portugal was stunning. From the weather to the people and food, it was my favourite country on this trip. We got to experience some city life and history in Lisbon, as well as beautiful beaches in The Algarve. One of the coolest experiences I had was kayaking to the Benagil Caves in The Algarve. You are kayaking in open water through caves and then you come to a secluded beach. We will definitely be back.
France

Our final stop in Europe was Paris, France. Although we spent little time here, we tried to pack as much in a couple of days as we could. We had some amazing food, visited the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Eiffel Tower. France is a country that I would love to spend more time in, exploring more culture and locations in the future.
